For those who are not keeping up with the time, dates or holidays. Father's Day is 7 days away. I know they say that Father's day 2017 will break a record for money spent on dad, but most dads are not worried about money spent on them. I don't care about the money spent on me for Father's day. Personally, I have cologne that I barely wear, clothes with tags, and tools that don't get used that often. My wife and daughter constantly ask "What do you want for Father's Day?" My answer is always "nothing."
Recently my wife has been creative about gift giving and I must say I get more out of the gifts and I am very appreciative of the thought. For my birthday this year, she gave me hunting, farming and survivalist magazines. I was able to read them and choose one that I really liked so I could get a years subscription. This was one of the best gifts that actually gets used. Some other gifts that have been unique were a day of rest. For the men that work hard to take care of the family a day of relaxation is wonderful. I get served breakfast in bed, my family records all my favorite shows I miss during the week and I get to catch up, along with having my favorite meal for lunch and dinner along with my favorite beer. A few years back for Christmas my wife bought me all my favorite seasonal beers along with my favorite snacks. I was totally surprised but I had enough Christmas Ale and Pumpkin lager to last for a while. Prior to creating spice blends my wife would order Louisiana seasonings, hot sauce, and coffee online as gifts.
I believe you don't have to break the bank for Father's Day, but give dad what he wants. Although, advertisers think they know what dads want they don't know your dad. Think about the people, places, and things that make your dad happy and strive to spice up your dad's special day.
